Access
the magazine and newspaper index from home! Follow these steps to
access MNLink!
1.
On the internet - go to: www.mnlink.org
2.
Click search.
3.
Type your library card number in the User ID box.
Type your entire number. You do not enter a Password or PIN.
4.
Click Logon. (If you logon on as GUEST, you can search the
Library Catalogs, but NOT the Magazine and Newspaper Databases.)
5.
This will take you to the screen that lists the Library Catalogs
and Databases.
6.
To search the Library Catalogs click on the map to choose
the Library System you want, or, from the drop-down menu below the
map, you can choose a library group to search. This list gives you
the option of searching all MN libraries at once, or searching by
Library System.
7.
To search the Magazine and Newspaper Databases click on the
desired database. (If you would like more information on the database,
click on the small "i" in front of the database title.)
8.
Beginning a basic search is the same, whether you are in the Library
Catalog or a Database. Type in your keyword (or change to subject
or author, etc. by using the drop down menu). Click search.
9.
For Library Catalog searching, a list of books will come
up. You can browse through the titles from the list and find the
one you are looking for. (To navigate easily, use the buttons provided
instead of your browser's back button.) You cannot reserve (order)
a book from here. Bring the information (author, title, publisher,
date) for the book you want to the Library and we will order it
for you!
10.
For Database searching, click on the citation title to get
more information about the article. At that screen you can click
on the View Full Text button to view the entire article.
(Remember to use the buttons provided to navigate through the
