How do I?
Visit either library location to complete registration. You must have a photo ID and proof of current address, such as a utility bill or rental agreement. Lib. Application (English & Spanish), or get an application form at your library.
Or, you can fill out the library card application form electronically. Download and open the form in Adobe Reader, then either fill it out using the Fill & Sign option, or fill out and scan. Scan your ID and proof of address, attached all of it to an email, then email it to your branch (email addresses listed on the front webpage).
Library cards are free for all Plum Creek Residents. Lost cards can be replaced for $3.00 at either Nobles County Library location.
There is no age limit for cards, but the parent or guardian of the child must be present and provide a photo ID and proof of address, just as they would for their own card.
One week - NEW DVDs, magazines, and cake pans.
Two weeks - DVDs and materials from outside the Plum Creek System.
Three weeks - books from our library.
There is a $1.00 per day fine on overdue DVDs.
There is a $6.00 per day fine on overdue Hotspots.
There is a $6.00 per day fine on overdue Chromebooks.
- Go to the library catalog.
- Click "Log in to your account" in the upper right corner.
- Enter your login, which is your library card barcode number and your password, which typically is the last four digits of the library card number on your library account. If for some reason your login did not work, call the library for help.
- You're logged in! Now to place a hold type the word, phrase, author, title or subject you are looking for in the search field at the top of the screen, then click "Go."
- Click "Place a Hold" on the item you wish to request.
- Click "Confirm Hold." Once your item arrives at the library you will be notified, and you have 1 week to pick it up.
- Can’t find what you’re looking for? You can also place holds on MNLink.org, which searches all Minnesota libraries.
To check your due dates online, go to the library catalog.
- Enter your login, which is your library card barcode number and your password, which typically is the last four digits of the library card number on your library account. If for some reason your login did not work, call the library for help.
You will see all of the items you have checked out and due dates.
Renewals may be done in person, by phone, or through the online catalog. The item cannot be renewed if it is on hold, the renewal limit for the item has been reached, or the patron has been blocked due to fines or overdue items. Items borrowed from outside the Plum Creek System cannot be renewed unless a special request is made.
Go to the Library catalog.
Click "log into your account" in the upper right corner.
Enter your library card number and your password, which is the last four digits of your card number. If for some reason your login did not work, call any of the Nobles County Library System locations for help.
To renew an item, select the renew box next to the item you wish to renew and click on "Renew Selected".
If you wish to renew everything, click on "Renew all".
Items may be renewed once.
Items that are on "Hold" may not be renewed.
If an item is from outside of our system, a special request to renew must be made at any of the Nobles County Library System locations.
To renew an item that is overdue, please call any of the Nobles County Library System locations.
Worthington: Return materials to the book drop outside the main entrance, or use the slot in the alley at the northwest corner of the building.
Adrian: Return materials to the book drop located at the front of the library.
Items that will not fit in the slot need to be brought into the library.
The library provides email notices for when holds arrive and as a reminder of due dates. If you would like to receive an email notice, stop at your library or call and ask a librarian to add it to your record.
If you cannot find an item you are looking for on the Library Catalog, you may be able to borrow it from other libraries.
Interlibrary loan requests may be made using the MNLINK System.
Login using your library card barcode number and your password, which is the last four digits of the card number.
Requests can also be placed in person or over the phone at the Adrian or Worthington libraries.
Newly released DVDs, newly published books, eBooks, eAudios or entire issues of magazines are unavailable for loan.
There is no fee for this service.
Most requests will be filled within 2 weeks. Materials that are in high demand, hard to find, or owned by only a few libraries may take longer.
You will be notified by phone or e-mail once the materials have arrived at your chosen library.
Most materials will be loaned for 2 weeks. Renewals may be possible by contacting a librarian at the lending library (Worthington or Adrian).
Your card must not be expired and you cannot owe fines in order to use Interlibrary loan.
With Overdrive, you can borrow and enjoy free eBooks and Audiobooks from your library's digital collection. All you need to get started is an Internet connection and a library card. Download the Overdrive or Libby app and use your library card (entire barcode for your user name and the last four digits of your barcode for your PIN number) to check out your eBooks.

Wifi is available at both the Worthington and Adrian Libraries. No password is required.
At the Worthington Library, there are 10 public computers available. Please stop at the circulation desk for a user name and password.
At the Adrian Library, there are 4 public computers available. To view the Internet policy, click here.
Printing can be done from each of the public access computers. Wireless printing is not available at this time.
The public photocopier, located by the circulation desk, can produce copies, color copies, scan, and scan to an email.
Fees are:
- $0.25 per page for black and white
- $0.75 per page for color
The Fax machine is by the circulation desk. Staff can assist you. Only the Worthington branch has fax services at this time.
Fees:
- $5.00 + tax = 1-5 pages sent
- $1.00 + tax per additional page
- Incoming fax = $1.00 per page + tax
Microfilm can be viewed at the Worthington Library. Minnesota newspapers on microfilm may be interlibrary loaned through the Minnesota Historical Society. Early Nobles County newspapers (among others) are available online at the Chronicling America website.

If there is an item that you want, but can't find it on our Catalog or on MNLINK, you may request a purchase.
Tell a staff member at either Worthington or Adrian you would like to request the purchase of an item, or email your request to library staff at nobleslib@co.nobles.mn.us.
Requests are reviewed to see if they fit the library’s selection criteria. If a requested item is purchased, your name will be automatically placed on the holds list and you will be notified when the item is available.

There are two conference rooms available, in Worthington only, for community use during regular library hours. Call or stop at the front desk for more information about scheduling. There is no fee for use.
