Library News for the Week of August 15, 2022
** Summer Reading Programs – Worthington **
- The Library Store is still open (while supplies last) – the final day will be Friday, August 26th.
- Make sure to turn in your Summer Reading Logs and library money to choose your prizes!
** Summer Programs for Children – Adrian **
- The Summer Reading Program goes through the month of August.
- Story Time – Children are invited to listen to stories, sing songs and learn rhymes that spark a love of reading and learning!
- Every Wednesday in August
- From 12:10 – 12:50 p.m.
- Art with McKenzie – Students will gain creative confidence and have fun as McKenzie share her talent and passion for art!
- Wednesday, August 17th
- From 1:00 – 2:15 p.m.
- Fun at the Library – There will be a variety of activities from crafts to bingo and board games!
- Wednesday, August 24th and 31st
- From 1:00 – 2:15 p.m.
- All events are free and open to the public.
- Don’t forget to record your reading in your Summer Logs by August 19th! A party for those who completed their logs will be on Tuesday, August 23rd.

- Science Fiction/Fantasy Monthly Book Club:

- Friends of the Library Book Club
- Monday, August 22nd at 6:00 p.m. at the library.
- We will be discussing the book “Passing” by Nella Larsen. All are welcome to join!
** A Note from the Library Director **
- The Nobles County Library is looking for historical, cultural or personal collections to fill our display case in our entryway! Items will be on display in this locked case for one month. If you would like to show off your collection, please speak to Beth to make arrangements.
- The Nobles County Library Board is looking for a Library Board Member! If you’re passionate about the library and are looking for a way to serve your community, then we need you! Please contact the Library Director, Beth Sorenson, at the library with any questions.
** New at the Library **
- Monthly Book Display – Each month a theme is chosen and displayed out front! We’ve featured books about graduation, Spanish language books, graphic novels and this month features Large Print Beach Reads.
- New Kits for Children – We now have two Magna-Tile Kits and a Baking Kit that have been added to the library collection! These kits help develop social skills, teach math and science concepts while allowing children to explore and create. They are available to place on hold and can be checked out for one week.
- New Books for Children – The library now has five new talking books in English, Spanish, Tagalog and Arabic. Stop by the library and check one out!
