Library News for the Week of January 29, 2024

Winter Reading Program – Adrian & Worthington:

  • The Winter Reading Program has begun and ends March 30th!  Come in to either library branch to sign up and get your punch card.
  • Read twelve books (or audio books/e-books) and bring your punch card back to choose your prize.
  • After you’ve turned in your completed card(s), be sure to fill out a raffle ticket for the grand prize drawing!
  • Must be at least 16 years old to participate.


Happening at the Worthington Library for Adults:

  • Monday, January 29th:  Friends of the Library Book Club at 6:00 p.m.  We will be discussing the book, “The Extraordinary Life of Sam Hell” by Robert Dugoni.  All are welcome!
  • Tuesday, February 6th:  Adulting 101: Reducing Home Energy Bills – presented by Citizens Utility Board (FREE 30 minute energy bill consults – call to reserve your spot!)  Presentation from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. – learn ways to reduce your energy bills.
  • Friday, February 9th:  Local Author Adult Book Fair from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Friday, February 9th:  One Day Only Book Sale!  Check out our Local Author Book Fair and the Book Sale all in the same visit!  Everything is only 25¢!
  • Tuesday, February 13th:  Paul Imholte, “The Stringman”, musician from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, February 21st:  AARP – “Online Fraud & Cyber Crimes” from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Ecumen Meadows
  • Tuesday, February 27th:  Board Game Night from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. (ages 18+ please)


Happening at the Adrian Library

  • Tuesday, January 30th – Teen Game Night from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m.  We will have games or you can bring your own.  Come ready to have fun and eat snacks!


Happening at the Worthington Library for Youth:

  • After School Programs:
    • Mondays (grades 4-9):  Wii from after school until 4:45 p.m.
    • Tuesdays (grades K-5):  Kids Club from after school until 4:45 p.m.
    • Wednesdays (toddlers-preschoolers):  Story Time from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
    • Wednesdays (girls grades 5-9):  Just Gurlz from after school until 4:45 p.m.
    • Thursdays (grades K-5):  Kids Club from after school until 4:45 p.m.
  • Please call the library at 507-295-5340 to sign your children up.  You are responsible for your own ride to and from the library; please have your children picked up by 5:00 p.m.

Nobles County Art Center:

  • Through February 27th, the library and the Art Center will be offering a collaborative art experience with Dan Wahl, called, “Horse Meditations”.  This will be in the main part of the library and should be a fun, interactive experience for all ages!  Come and relax in the “Meditation Cave” in the Art Center!
  • Art Club meets the fourth Monday of every month at 5:30 p.m. – there is no cost to join and all are welcome!
  • The Art Center is located in the lower level of the Nobles County Library.  Hours are Monday-Friday, 12:00 to 4:00 p.m.  Contact us at 507-372-8245 or
