Library News for the Week of March 11, 2024

Happening at the Adrian Library:

  • Tuesday, March 12th:  Zentangle Teen Night from 4:30 – 6:00 p.m. – pizza and refreshments are provided!
  • Monday, March 19th:  **at the elementary school** – author Mary Casanova at 2:00 p.m.

 

Special Notice for Patrons of the Worthington Library:

  • Beginning March 19th – The library is getting a new print station!  This will provide our patrons with more confidentiality and efficiency when printing, making copies, and scanning documents.
    • To assist us with this change, remember to bring your library card with you each time, as that’s what you will need to log into the public computers.  Your library card also will be used to access your files on the print station.
    • Please bring small cash or coins with you, as large bills cannot be accepted.
    • Bring your library card, download the Aspen app or the staff can help you get signed up for a library card.  We will have guest passes available for our visitors, but we encourage you to get a library card if you are a frequent library user.  (first card is free)
    • If you’ve misplaced your library card but have an account with us, replacement card fees will be waived from March 19th through April 15th.

 

Notice for the Worthington Library Hours:

  • Due to staff development, the Worthington Library will be opening later on these days:
    • Friday, March 15th – opening at 10:00 a.m.
    • Friday, April 12th – opening at 9:30 a.m.

 

Happening at the Worthington Library for Adults:

  • Tuesday, March 12th:  Class #2:  Cross Stitch Class with Julie Buntjer from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
  • Monday, March 18th:  Mary Casanova (author) at 10:00 a.m. – This program is funded in part or in whole with money from Minnesota’s Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund.
  • Tuesday, March 19th:  Board Game Night from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.  (ages 18+ please)
  • Monday, March 25th:  Friends of the Library Book Club at 6:00 p.m.  We will be discussing the book, “Go Set a Watchman” by Harper Lee.  All are welcome!
  • Saturday, March 30th:  End of the Winter Reading Program

 

Happening at the Worthington Library for Youth:

  • After School Programs:
    • Mondays (grades 4-9):  Wii from after school until 4:45 p.m.
    • Tuesdays (grades K-5):  Kids Club from after school until 4:45 p.m.
    • Wednesdays (toddlers-preschoolers):  Story Time from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
    • Wednesdays (girls grades 5-9):  Just Gurlz from after school until 4:45 p.m.
    • Thursdays (grades K-5):  Kids Club from after school until 4:45 p.m.
  • Please call the library at 507-295-5340 to sign your children up.  You are responsible for your own ride to and from the library; please have your children picked up by 5:00 p.m.

Nobles County Art Center:

  • Friday, March 1st:  District 518 Student Art Show Opening Reception from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.  This show will be hanging in the Art Center Gallery through March 28th.
  • Art Club meets the fourth Monday of every month at 5:30 p.m. – there is no cost to join and all are welcome!
  • The Art Center is located in the lower level of the Nobles County Library.  Hours are weekdays 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. and Tuesdays 12-7, during the District 518 Student Art Show.  Contact us at 507-372-8245 or noblearts407@gmail.com
