Library News for the Week of May 13, 2024

Happening at the Adrian Library:

  • Saturday, May 18th:  open from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and then closed Saturdays for the Summer.

 

Happening at the Worthington Library for Adults:

  • Wednesday, May 15th:  Astronomer, Mark Job:  “Here Comes the Sun” from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. – Join us to look at the sun through Mark’s telescope with a presentation afterwards.  (ages 12+ please)
  • Thursday, May 23rd:  Lisa M. Bolt Simons:  “Shadows & Sunshine: A Grief Writing Workshop” from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. – Please register in advance for this workshop.  (ages 18+ please)
  • Monday, June 3rd:  Friends of the Library Book Club at 6:00 p.m.  We will be discussing the book, “The First Ladies” by Marie Benedict and Victoria Christopher Murray.  All are welcome!

 

Happening at the Worthington Library for Youth:

  • After School Programs:
    • Mondays (grades 4-9):  Wii from after school until 4:45 p.m.
    • Tuesdays (grades K-5):  Kids Club from after school until 4:45 p.m.
    • Wednesdays (toddlers-preschoolers):  Story Time from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
    • Wednesdays (girls grades 5-9):  Just Gurlz from after school until 4:45 p.m.
    • Thursdays (grades K-5):  Kids Club from after school until 4:45 p.m.
  • Please call the library at 507-295-5340 to sign your children up.  You are responsible for your own ride to and from the library; please have your children picked up by 5:00 p.m.

Nobles County Art Center:

  • Now Showing: 64th Annual Area Art Show is on display until June 28th.  Come view local artist’s work!
  • Art Club will not meet in May, due to the Memorial Day holiday.  Join us Monday, June 24th at 5:30 p.m. – the theme will be “stars”.
  • Summer Project:  If you missed the last Art Club Meeting, stop in the Art Center to pick up a ‘giant’ book for this project, which is called “Book Art”.
